A Straighttalk Samsung Galaxy Precedent.
It’s got the same layout and such as my old Droid Incredible (Verizon), but it’s like a retarded cousin.. When I sync my Facebook with it and let the contacts sync, it acts weird.. like, if I try and use their Facebook pics as their contact picture, the “process” crashes. There’s a little note that says “Facebook contact information is not editable on this device” which I’m guessing has something to do with it..
It’s funny, because before with my Droid, it would sync my Facebook contacts’ pics even when I didn’t want it to!!
Also, it came with Swype, just like my Droid.. but I couldn’t easily turn it off. Yes- I went into Settings>Language & Keyboard, but there is no option to turn it off. There’s a Swype settings option, but nothing to actually disable it from there. I had to go into Settings>Applications>Manage Applications, open Swype, and “Force Stop” it. It worked. It doesn’t restart the app when I turn my phone off and back on. So that’s good. But still.
Also-also, I think the Home and Options buttons on the screen are reversed, because for some reason I instinctively go for the Home button when I mean Options.. and the button on the top is on the right instead of the left.. odd.. and there’s no camera flash.
At least I was able to change my ring and notification tones.. the Straighttalk I had for the past year couldn’t change the notification sound beyond the 4 built-in ones.. I made my way to phonezoo, (tried to download the DQ4 levelup tone from there but it didn’t work so I) downloaded the tone to my PC, emailed it to myself, and voila! Same with the Somewhere Close To You ringtone I made (which is a fucking sweet tone btw).
All in all though, it’s good to have a smart phone again. Ari judges me for saying this, but if my future ever holds for me a financially stable life, I’m going back to Verizon and getting an HTC Droid (whichever one is available at the time). Simply put, Verizon has the best coverage. It costs 90-100$ for a reason. And simply put, HTC makes the best smart phones. The Droid Incredible had an 8MP CAMERA. WHO NEEDS 8MP CAMERAS ON A PHONE??? NO ONE. But I fucking LOVED IT. It had a 1GH processor. I LOVED IT. It’s touch screen could be calibrated (I have no fucking clue how to do that on this new one). The touch screen was just sensitive enough, and worked almost flawlessly. The thing barely EVER crashed. And less important but still a sweet thing about it.. it was like.. the perfect size. I can only imagine how amazing the Droid Incredible II is.
Anyway, this is turning into a longer rant than I expected. Sorry.
